Welcome to the Blind Vet Tech news and information blog. This blog brings you announcements for our upcoming Blind Vet Tech teleconferences, summaries from each teleconference, and latest news and information about assistive tech. To learn more about Blind Vet Tech, click on the following links:

We currently host two monthly teleconferences, our Monthly MacOS Talk and Monthly Tech Talk. These occur on the second and third Thursday of each month, respectively, at 1900 Central Time. These teleconferences are open to any Veteran with a visual impairment or individuals who support our peers. Participation only requires you to dial our toll free number, (866) 820-9940, at the designated times.

The Monthly MacOS Talk is the only teleconference by blinded Veterans for blinded Veterans interested in learning about how Zoom and Voice Over works on Apple’s MacBooks, MacBook Pro, and iMac computers. Our Monthly Tech Talk generally focuses on iOS devices, though we often invite guest speakers or introduce other forms of assistive technologies issued by the VA’s Blind Rehab Services. Different from other teleconferences, we start off each teleconference with a live demo or tutorial of a particular feature, application, or product review, and allow participants to ask any questions. We then move into a general question and answer session. It is not uncommon for a couple of participants to remain on the call for an extended period of time while we provide one on one tech support following the end of each call. After all, we are here to assist you.
